The Baltimore Chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community extended its outreach efforts to Hagerstown Maryland recently. While the Church Pastor, Rev. Kevin Munroe of the Zion Reformed United Church of Christ, was away on Sabatical, The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was invited to come and share its peaceful message of Islam to the congregation on a beautiful July , Sunday morning. Abdul Latif Bennett , the outreach secretary was called upon to deliver to the sermon.
Rather than preach, Attorney Bennett chose to make a case for peace. His address aimed at providing both the basic teachings of Islam and compelling evidence of the truthfulness of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s stance as purveyors of True Islam. He also left behind written materials on True Islam, how Jesus is viewed in Islam, the concept of jihad, the elementary teachings of Islam, and basic information on the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which was taken by every single member.
The congregation listened with rapt attention. They were genuinely interested to learn about Islam and its show on their glowing faces. The commonalities between Islam and Christianity have always been a source of peace for those interested intolerance. On this day, in the small town of Hagerstown, peace and brotherhood prevailed, which in essence, is the mission of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
